Why I Choose Hubpages Over Squidoo
68Why I choose Hubpages over Squidoo
There is a common question many people ask and I asked myself at one point and that is Hubpages or Squidoo? Which one is better? Which one should I choose? Which one will I make money at? From experience I choose Hubpages over Squidoo.
Writing is a great passion of mine and although I have several blogs, I felt the need to venture out more. I found my way onto Squidoo a bit sooner than Hubpages but eventually started writing on both. I really fell in love with designing Squidoo lenses. They really do have funner and fancier options to be creative with. Every lens is an adventure, not only of content but with color, font, backgrounds, fun features, etc. After designing a few, you find more and more options to do so you WANT to go back and keep updating your lenses which you find out later you HAVE to do to keep lensrank. I found myself invited by a 'Giant Squid' to join the 'Giant Squid Challenge'. On Squidoo they have Giant Squids, Lensmasters and Angels. I was excited by the new challenge and really put all my focus into writing lenses and found myself not writing so much on Hubpages. See, on Squidoo you need to submit your lenses to a lensroll for people to view and comment on. This gives you lensrank. The more views and comment obviously the better. I later found that Squidoo is nothing more than a popularity contest. Of course there was a few people in the Squidoo that were extremely kind and helpful anytime you needed help with HTML code and so on. However, the longer you are on and the more lenses you submit the more it becomes a job. Instead of submitting lenses because you're proud and want to show them off and have people read them, now you are obligated to submit and have A LOT of criticising done. Not small amounts of criticism either. They want to rip apart your content, disapprove of the color you choose or lack of color, order of content, etc. Eventually your hobby of writing and loving the things you're writing about are not fun at all. It was during this that I found my way back to Hubpages.
I choose Hubpages because you can freely write about whatever you want. There is not a popularity contest of who can make the 'prettiest' Hub, it's purely about the content. Of course a few extra features would be nice, I'll pick the less features any day. Another feature that I really did like on Squidoo is the lensroll feature. If you read another person's lens that has related content to yours, you can lensroll it to yours and vice verse. This gives you both more viewing opportunity, again with the popularity though. You don't want to be the one lensrolling all the time and not having it done in return.
Now for the big question....which will make me more money? I can only answer from experience and I say Hubpages!
