Apple Cider Vinegar For Healthy Looking Hair
74Get Great Hair With Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is a fabulous cleaning agent for your hair because it provides a proper pH balance to promote hair growth and leave you with a healthy scalp. It removes old nasty skin cells from your scalp and hair follicles due to the fact that it is super high in alpha-hydroxy acids.
When you use apple cider vinegar you should dilute it in water. One half cups of vinegar should be mixed with one quart of water and then you use this to rinse out your hair after you shampoo.
So, how does it work?
Here's How It Works
The apple cider vinegar's pH neutralizes your scalp's pH and cleans away build up that is left behind from shampoo, conditioner and other hair products. It will leave your hair smooth and shiny AND it detangles your hair and helps to eliminate frizz. If you get summer frizzies from humid weather, an apple cider vinegar rinse is perfect for you! Also, it works wonders for those that have dandruff because it corrects your scalps pH balance.
Super Gentle
There are no side effects of using apple cider vinegar on your hair and it is gentle enough to use every time you shampoo your hair. Or, you can use it occasionally to get rid of residue build up or just use it in the summer to help with bad hair days.
Apple cider vinegar is inexpensive and has fabulous healing qualities. After all, it is made up of 12 minerals, 6 vitamins and over 30 nutrients so it sort of "has" to be good for you!

I used to use this when I was a teen with hair down to my butt. I had forgotten all about it!
Yes! How well, I remember using it and being thrilled with the results. How do we forget these wonderful healthy things?
Thanks so much! I'll pick it up tomorrow so I can be super glamorous around the head.
Thanks for this great tip!
THH, Great I didn't think it would damage it no way. Just imagining the strigent power making it fuller. My hair has a way of poofing out. I'm gonna give it a try. I use it on my face, plus it's great for athletes foot... and on and on. This is a great hub. Thanks and Peace :)
Is it good for a 100 year old man who's balding everywhere but the ears, eyebrows, and nose? Should I Apple cider vinegar my nose hair?
A very helpful hub with detailed informations. Well done. Enjoy.
I am getting ready to wash my hair and I'm glad that I took the time to sit down and read your hub. I'm going to use the apple cider vinegar on it as you said. I loved the hub and I'm bookmarking it now.
Come Saturday night I'm giving this a try, if you grab me by the feet and shake me up side down it's like a snow globe out of 36 inches of old gray hair. Thanks for the heads up!
I know a lot of little old ladies who drink the stuff but never thought to try it on my hair! Pretty cool info!
Although I consume apple cider vinegar but I never known that this is also good for hair. I said thank you very much for wonderful information. Good work. I rate this Up!
OK I cheated, I didn't wait until Saturday night. I mixed 1/4 cup to 16 OZ. of water. Rule # 1 Keep your eyes clamped shut it's kind of like pouring gasoline in your eyes. I rinsed my hair and the results are quite unbelievable, I think it strips all chemicals left from shampoo and conditioners. I did not add any conditioner and with a wide tooth heavy comb I sat down and combed out all 38 inches of the hair on my head. It is a cool deal, no skin flakes at all from my scalp, even today. Now the run off went down my shoulders and chest I poured some on my arms as I have the old man skin. While still in the shower I pressed down on my hide at the shoulders and with slight pressure rubbed in a straight line down. The dead skin released and I could feel it roll up under my fingers I did this to my arms as well. So today when I woke up, I normally have dry skin on my fore arms and have to apply lotion, but the dry skin was dead skin and now it's gone so it looks like no lotion. It does as promised releases the dead skin, way cool. Thanks for a hub that pays well!
Might have to give this a go for the frizz control. I swear my hair looks like I just had a fight with a light socket after I wash it. No kidding. It gets that frizzy. lol
I have very frizzy hair and I tried this last night and I have to say that it worked very well. My hair is much shinier and looks flatter and more tamed. So thanks so much for posting this hub.
Great idea! I am gonna try it...my hair gets so funky from all the stuff I do to it, so I'm always looking for a healthy way to improve it!
I know when I was a teenager, they used to say this was great for your hair. I had forgotten about it. Sounds like it's worth trying.
I like health hubs and this is amazing information, Thank you, Maita
To the herbivorehippi: I am incredibly happy that I found your Hub because I am a true blue vinegar believer!! I have been using apple cider vinegar for several years after curing my stomach ailments. I had horrible acid problems caused by stress, I was always constipated and bloated, my skin was breaking out and my stomach was making me miserable for about 2 years. It got to the point where I would get sick after eating tiny amounts of food. I was desperate so I tried a mixture of honey and apple cider vinegar in my bottled water for one week straight (2x a day)....it was HORRIBLE tasting even with the honey but as I said I was desperate to get better and not only did it cured my acid reflux ( if I get acid now I will just take a shot)but it cleared out my intestines as well (sorry ewwwh). My point is that it works!! My boyfriend got a horrible rash in his armpit 2 weeks ago and it worked for that too...he just rubbed it on at bedtime for two nights. It worked for my daughters horrible smelly feet as well...I could go on and on about gross stuff but my point is that it truly does have wonderful health benefits. FABULOUS HELPFUL HUB!!!!
what about smell?
sounds cool, but do you have a lingering weird smell in your hair?
