10 Things You can do with a Travel Toothbrush
72
On the top of anyone's vacation "to pack" list is always the travel toothbrush...or at least a toothbrush! Surprisingly
though, a lot of people throw their travel toothbrush away when
they get home. Obviously this is absolutely ridiculous since there are so
many things you can do with them. Recycle, recycle, recycle!
Tile grout cleaner – Your travel toothbrush is an absolutely perfect cleaning tool to scrub away that soap scum in those difficult places like the tile in your bathroom.
Hairdryer cleaner – You know what I'm talking about! That fuzzy stuff that gets all built up in the lint trap at the back of your hair dryer that causes your great styling tool to now only blow out a gentle breeze of pathetic air. You can scrub this fuzz clean with your travel toothbrush. This will greatly improve your hairdryer's performance and cause it to work like new again.
Shower track cleaner – Ewe! That nasty mildew and soap scum that builds up in the shower tracks, housing your glass doors. Travel toothbrushes are the perfect size of cleaning tool to use in order to get in between those tracks. Scrub, scrub, scrub! Your doors might actually slide properly again.
Carpet cleaner – Do you have a little spill or an old stain on your carpet that a cloth never seemed to be able to get out? Travel toothbrushes can be effective in getting down into carpet fibers and assist you in scrubing that stain away.
Ring cleaner – Scrubbing your ring, primarily those with raised stones will really benefit from the use of a travel toothbrush. Bristles can get that nasty dirt cleaned away that's been camping out all caked up under your ring's precious stones.
Eyebrow brush – Travel toothbrushes work as a perfect tool to shape those remarkably unruly eyebrows that you have. You know, the ones that everyone has been starring at.
Sink faucets – It doesn't matter how frequently you clean or how incredibly spotless your house is, faucets on your bathroom and kitchen sinks seem to always get a terrible build up caked around them. Chances are, if your faucets are built the way most people's faucets are then there is probably not enough room to squeeze your fingers back behind there to get those narrow hard places. Travel toothbrushes are the perfect size tool to use to fit back there and scrub that icky build up away.
Baby bottle cleaner – After your travel toothbrush is cleaned, it is ideal to use to clean out your baby bottles. This really comes in handy for the ones that you forgot to rinse out right away. All parents know that once formula dries in bottles, a little (or a lot) of muscle is needed to pry that crusty, dried up substance loose.
Can opener cleaner – That gooey, sticky bizarre build up...how does that stuff build up around the blade of the can opener? We all rinse them off so where does it come from? Not only is the blade ridiculously sharp, that build up is hard as a rock. Travel toothbrushes can be used to easily bristle that build up away without cutting yourself.
Telephone cleaner – Yes, there are still some homes out there that have a house phone. Truth be told, I think my mom still has one of those old answering machines somewhere in her home that houses a cassette tape. The buttons that you touch on your phone and also the ear piece of the receiver acquire a germy build up of grime and dirt from your fingers. Old travel toothbrushes are perfect to clean those germs away.
Next time you take a vacation resist the temptation to toss that travel toothbrush in the garbage....don't! Just because you might not think you're going need to use it again anytime soon, you might as well put it to practical use and use this great tool to clean things around your house and tame those eyebrows.

Yup, can I use my electric tooth brush as well LOL great hub...
Cool hub I enjoyed it.
Two things I have to do right now with all those travel toothbrushes I have (many are given to me on the airplane)- I must clean that horrifying can opener, and all the spotted dirty faucets that I can just never clean all around the edges.
Thanks for these suggestions!
I can't bear to think about how naive I was before - thinking that travel toothbrushes were just for cleaning tooths, er, teeths, whatever.
Thank you for opening my mind to their remarkable capabilities.
Great and SO true, you should invent a tooth brush caddy for the kitchen as they are better for cleaning than most anything I can think of after reading your hub and having the AH HA moment! Thanks for the practical and useful hub. Peace :)
Some very good suggestions. They are also good for cleaning the overflow in the bathroom sink. English sinks always have this narrow opening which gets grimy, a toothbrush is the perfect thing.
Great tips! They work pretty good for fingernails after gardening, too!
Pat says - when I saw the title of this Hub I thought but surely all you can do with a toothbrush is brush your teeth.
Wrong! I'll be hanging on to mine from now on and using them as you suggest.
Thanks.

Thank you very much. I know the other benefit for travel toothbrush. Nice information. I am glad to know that.
Very useful and practical tips. However, I won't be able to look at my toothbrush the same way again, knowing what other things it could be used for. lol.
Thanks
Great ideas! I've definitely used a toothbrush on my tile grout.
Great hub, seriously I throw these things away all the time now I can put them to good use.
How incredibly useful!! This is simply brilliant! Now I can clean my can opener that I can never seem to get the gunk off of!
