Ophiuchus - The New Zodiac Sign - Has Your Horoscope Changed?
66Has Your Horoscope Changed?
Thanks to what experts call a wobble that occurs in the axis of the earth, the 2,000 year old astrological positions no longer apply!
Astrological signs are directly determined by the sun's position in relation to specific constellations on the day you were born. So, what's the problem? These positions were created over 2,000 years ago and since the stars have done so much shifting in the sky, horoscopes are now suggested to be off by over about a month.
The shift is a result of a wobble in the axis that is caused by the moon's gravitational pull on the Earth's equator. As the earth rotates, there is a swing in its axis, pointing to different directions. As this position shifts, the perspective of the sky at night does as well.
According to astronomers, the real astrological signs are:
Capricorn: January 20 - February 16
Aquarius: February 16 - March 11
Pisces: March 11 - April 18
Aries: April 18 - May 13
Taurus: May 13 - June 21
Gemini: June 21 - July 20
Cancer: July 20 - August 10
Leo: August 10 - September 16
Virgo: September 16 - October 30
Libra: October 30 - November 23
Scorpio: November 23 - November 29
Ophiuchus: November 29 - December 17
Sagittarius: December 17 - January 20
Ophiuchus is a formation that was discarded by the ancient Babylonians because they only wanted 12 zodiac signs, not 13. Has your horoscope changed? Does this explain more about you?
NOW, I admit, I am confused! What is with the overlapping on this new table? If you're born on a transitional day does this mean you get to choose your sign? For example, December 17th is listed as Ophiuchus and Sagittarius so which is right? Any experts on the subject....feel free to explain!
