Miss America Pageant 2010 Caressa Cameron

The 89th annual Miss America pageant has came to an end and the contestants seem to get more beautiful and down to earth every year.  The event was held at The Theatre for the Performing Arts located in the Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas and aired live on TLC.  Contestants from 50 states plus District of Columbia, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico competed fro the prestigious crown.  The event put a twist in things this year.  14 runner ups were chose and the remaining girls had to vote in who they thought should be the 15th.  I bet some girls wished they had made more friends while they were there.

Back stage secrets were revealed including the vast uses for hairspray.  its not just for hair ladies.  Contestants admitted to spraying hairspray on their face to keep their makeup from running, under their arms to stop deodorant from smudging and all over their body during swimsuit to hold their skin tight!  Also, don't forget about the buttocks glue to hold their swimsuits in places.  They all agree to avoid salt the week prior to not run the risk of water retention and we learned that eating ice cream the day of the competition gives your skin a healthy glow.  Who knew?

The swimsuit competition presented perfectly toned and posed bodies but the evening gown section was the special treat.  These were the most beautiful dress from any other year in vibrant colors including red, blue and one very elegant, astonishing sunshine yellow gown. 

Talent was mainly singing and dancers but Miss Louisiana gets honorable mention for being an exceptional pianist.  Her performance was unflawed.  The judges certainly had a tough decision but finally the time had come.

4th Runner up - Miss Kentucky

3rd Runner up - Miss Louisiana

2nd Runner up - Miss Tennessee

1st Runner up - Miss California

and the 2010 new Miss America goes to.......

MISS VIRGINIA!

Caressa Cameron, Miss Virginia, actually finished 1st in preliminary competition on Tuesday.  She is 22 years old and has dreams of being a television anchor after she receives her Masters.  Caressa's platform?  AIDS in America

It is key to mention that this stunning beauty is the brave one blessed us with the yellow gown during competition!  This is the 2nd yellow gown to win Miss America. The most popular color for winners is white but perhaps yellow is the 'new' white.
