Malachi And Shiloh My Giant Alaskan Malamutes
74
Well, it was my full intention since I was around hub number 50 to devote my 100th hub to my pets but my 100th hub came and went and I still haven't introduced Hubpages to the loves in my life. I'm starting with more recent pictures and working backwards so...in case you're wondering why they shrink in size instead of grow.
Malachi is my giant Alaskan Malamute, he is a third generation wooley and I have had him since puppyhood. Shiloh I rescued when she was was one year old, which was a year ago. It has taken her up until about two months ago to ever speak or learn to play with toys. She had a very rough puppyhood and was terrified of everything and it took a long time for her to open up to me, have fun and even play with a toy. Of course, her and Malachi fell in love the minute they met which I have a picture of and they are so much in love it warms your heart. She is now a happy dog who knows that it's OK to speak and play with her toys and that she will always have an endless supply of treats. They have a toy box full of toys and they both know that they have to put their toys back as well as take them out. :)
Malachi adored her from the beginning that to this day he still lets her pick her treat or chewy first and then he takes the left over one...even though they are the same..she gets first choice. Malachi weighs 143lbs and Shiloh weighs 84lbs yet he lets her beat him up all the time. Enjoy the peak into my little world and if you look hard you may catch a picture of Sinatra, my Persian cat in a picture or two as well!
They both eat tofu, vegetables and fruit everyday to supplement their diet of dead squirrels and birds. :) Malachi enjoys eating his prey immediately. Shiloh likes to carry them around like a stuffed animal and will often bring me a "gift" to the door. Please keep in mind that I am a vegan so as much as I appreciate the offer.....these gifts really do NOT make my day!
By the way, Malachi is VERY white..so you can tell which pictures he is dirty in and when he's not...lol. Unfortunately my yard turns into a swamp land when the snow melts and he loves to run through any mud he can find!! They both do...except Shiloh's hair is much shorter and easier to dry off.
They are both two years old. I'm trying to dig up a few puppy pictures of Malachi but unfortunately when my last computer crashed...so did the pictures of him. If I find some somewhere I will update this hub. Enjoy my children!

Oh what a delightful hub, my eyes filled with tears to know that any pet can have a bad puppy life. You are the best mom in the world. I feel the same way about my babies, and you should write about how to feed them the right way so they will live long. Fantastic and thumb up
I don't blame you for spoiling those beautiful creatures. They are certainly special.
Wow, what a great photo hub. I love that they met, I love that they argue and yell, I love that they are beautiful and so happy, and I love love love that they happily share their home and you with the lovely kitty, Sinatra.
How interesting that Malachi is a gentleman and lets Shiloh pick her toys first. You know sometimes we call men 'dogs' and we mean it in a derogatory way. This shows the truth here. If dogs are allowed to be dogs they are perfect!
Great hub! Thank you!
Griffin will be upset if he sees the ones in the snow so I'm going to make sure he doesn't have access to the hub today.....too beautiful!! Malachi is a stately fellow and Shiloh reminds me a lot of Denaya - timid but so pretty....it is wonderful that you care so much about them and for them. Nothing like a kindred nut in love with the mals. You need to get a scooter though, girl!
They are pretty. We had a husky once. She didn't like anyone getting near her food dish- I mean nobody! Keep-a-hubbing! Thanks you-herbivorehippi-you!
BEAUTIFUL dogs! I had a mal named Yukon.
Very beautiful dogs.Thanks for sharing.
You ed a really beautiful dog. No doubt, Malachi is a true lover!
Aww..All your pets are so beautiful.. And you portrayed the whole story so interestingly. Simply loved it!!
sooo dog i i hav like a zoo honist
Wow 143lbs is a BIG dog. They're both gorgeous. (kitty looks pretty big too) You look like you have a nice happy family.
Nice, I really really love being the play toy and cook for my Rottweilers I'm back to 3 "spare" arrived from Frankfurt, Germany just this last Tuesday. The replacement for my old Rotty Dolly who passed of double the life expectancy of the breed. I call her spare until I see her character. Right now she's a democrat, spreads manure like crazy and wants her half of a cheese burger and my half too.
Thanks for sharing! I plan a hub on them and their predecessors as well as dumped dogs in the future.
Your love for animals is awesome. God Bless You.
gorgeous dogs and wonderful to see people who still rescue dogs
Awesome dogs. Good, personal hub.
Great story and pictures!
It is funny that Malachi lets Shiloh have first pick. My male Shiba is the same way - he lets my Siberian have first pick. Good that the guys know who is boss ;)
